So Nice to see a note about my corner of the world. But I must tell you. Mystic Country in Eastern CT is so much more than what you find in this article.
I have it on good authority from the Last Green Valley that there are “17 public places to swim in The Last Green Valley’s CT towns. More than 130 miles of trails, including a portion of the 2700-mile East Coast Greenway (a National Millennium Trail) that runs from Key West to Caribou, Maine… the largest state forest in CT, numerous designated scenic highways including one of the first National Scenic Byways (Rte. 169), more than 80 lakes and ponds.
Leslie Sweetnam is a GREAT Photographer as with all of the incredible artwork he does his photographs are beautiful.
From North to South, you’ll find a little something for everyone in the our corner of New England. If you follow and look around you’ll find a great Ice Cream Trail at the mystic country website. If you tune your browser to thelastgreenvalley.org you can find more great information about visiting our area.
Putnam in NECT has, in addition to some super antique shopping and restaurants, events almost every weekend through the summer and into the fall. Main Street Car Cruise August 10 – Dancing under the stars in Rotary Park Aug 23. to name a few. See putnamct.us events calendar for more. The River Mills Heritage Trail is a great way to see the famous Cargill Falls and some beautiful old New England Mill buildings.
I could go on but instead will encourage you to come and see Mystic Country and The Last Green Valley for yourself.
It’s nice here.

I linked a friend of mine to your blog – he’s going to be in CT soon. Do you have someone where who can meet him?

Wow this post comes in timely. My sis is going to University of Connecticut for a student exchange program in August for half a year. I might be visiting her too! Awesome photo! Feel motivated to go there now! =)

@HereinNECT, Thanks for stopping by and for telling us more about your corner of the world. I hadn’t heard about the Last Green Valley before, didn’t know it was the same region. I found my facts on http://www.mysticcountry.com
Yes, Sweetnam is truly a great photographer. If anyone’s interested in seeing more of his work, check out http://www.glsweetnam.com/neighborhoodviews.htm
@Geronimo, I don’t know anyone in CT. The best for your friend would probably be to contact the nearest tourism office.
@eunice, Glad you enjoyed the post. If you visit your sis, perhaps I will be able to read something from Connecticut on your blog as well.

I would think he was a “sweet” guy too if he wasnt trying to cheat on his wife so much. That just makes him a creepy old hippy.

I don’t know anything about that, CoventryGuy. But how can we know you’re not his wife hiding under a guy’s profile name to be able to gossip about your husband? Or just someone who likes writing irrelevant comments on other people’s blogs.

I think i made the point. Things like that are black and white. People who cheat on their spouses are creepy selfish weaklings.

I don’t agree about cheating being black and white. Not ALL cheaters are bad persons. Everything has a cause and effect. It depends on the circumstances. To give you an example; in Sex and the City, Steve cheats on his girlfriend Miranda. Apparently they hadn’t slept with each other for months… and this because Miranda was really stressed about and busy at work. She just rejected him… over and over. Of course; perhaps he could have made more of an effort to solve the situation rather than cheat, but I do think he did his best. And obviously he didn’t feel very good about himself after being rejected that many times. Another (stronger) person may have suggested counselling or something similar, but when you’re in the middle of a situation like that it’s not always easy to think straight. I mean, she couldn’t/didn’t want to give him what he wanted so he found it elsewhere. It’s understandable. I don’t think it was anything he planned on doing ’cause he’s really the sweetest guy. And he clearly felt bad about it afterwards, knew it was a huge mistake, and wanted her back. I actually felt sorry for him. So, Steve did cheat… but I wouldn’t call him a ‘creepy selfish weakling’ for that.
I would never ever cheat though (no matter what!) and don’t think I could be with anyone who has cheated on me. And some cheaters may seem like creepy selfish weaklings but, like I said, everything has a cause and effect. Unless I have walked a mile in someone’s shoes, experienced what they’ve been through, seen what they’ve seen, I rather not judge that person – whatever he or she has done.
Just my opinion.
