Written by Dmitry Dragilev
My name is Dmitry, and I am an intern at Crossloop. I’m a full time MBA student, who works at Crossloop and be-friended Erica a while ago. Erica has been a tremendous help and resource for me over the recent months, and first of all I would like to say – a HUUGE Thank you to Erica for all her help!
What is the post about?
The reason for this posting is to introduce travelers to Crossloop, a free screen sharing tool for people. It’s the simplest out of many similar products on the market. Crossloop allows any two people to connect their computers through internet and share their screens with each other. Instead of more text – here is a good video demo of our software:
Crossloop Marketplace is the website complement for the tool. The site works similar to Ebay – but instead of people selling things, people are selling their own tech support/IT/training skills. So anybody out there willing having issues with their computer, needs advice, needs training on computer, or simply wants to ask computer related questions – this is the site to check out. You can get help from people in minutes. Here is a quick demo of how to use the site too find an expert:
Why would you care about it?
You already might be thinking, why would a traveler want to use such a tool? Here are some common uses Crossloop is good for:
1.) Business travelers: You’re away from your office, you got an important presentation tomorrow, you discover a computer issue of course. Normally you try to figure it out yourself, call people back home, have them guide you through the phone, spend hours, possibly not arrive with a solution. Instead – have those same people control your screen and fix it for you. Or if it’s a weekend and you cannot find those co-workers, go to www.crossloop.com and ask one of the 11,000+ experts (geeks) signed up on the website to troubleshoot a problem.
2.) Kids traveling or abroad at long distance: In this day and age most kids have laptops. And many of them have downloaded a virus onto that laptop, or need to install a software package, or need to update their antivirus. Throughout the year, many kids travel a lot: camps, abroad camps in other countries, visiting relatives, visiting friends. A parent can use Crossloop to view and manipulate their kid’s computer with just a few clicks. All these issues could be fixed within minutes or even seconds.
3.) Leisure travelers: You are on vacation, or traveling around somewhere, you have your laptop which you use to check weather, to look at maps, and what have you. A problem comes up, you are seeing some odd messages. What do you do? “Oh well, have to wait until we get home I guess”. Not really… call up your buddy who is a geek and have him look at it and fix it with Crossloop, or call one of those 10,000+ geeks on Crossloop.
4.) Working while traveling: Some people travel all their lives and work on the way, like bloggers, travel writers and foreign correspondents. If they ever need help to set something up on the computer or on the net, they can easily Crossloop it.
Here is a step by step instruction of how to install and use Crossloop.
To finish up the post I would like to tell you that I am extremely curious about what you have to say! So – please – leave some comments for me! I would love to hear hat you have to say about Crossloop, what your opinions are.
All the best to you all!
-Dmitry
