Happy Valentine’s Day!
“The greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and have that love returned.” — Moulin Rouge
Last weekend I read a message in a newsletter by Sarma, founder of one lucky duck and co-founder of Pure Food & Wine in New York City, that I would like to share with you today on Valentine’s Day. Regardless of where in the world you live and where you are headed, keep her message close to heart.
When you’re in love, make sure you love that person for who they are, not what they do for you, or what you want them to be, or do, or how you want them to make you feel. Love without expectations. Love without worrying so much about the future. It feels really good that way. And love all the people around you out of compassion. Love people who don’t know better. Love even people who are not nice to others, because those people are probably in pain. Find a way to fill yourself up and feel secure enough to open your heart. That’s when the good stuff happens. Love makes the world revolve. Put it out there and it comes back to you. And it feels nice. Happy Valentine’s Day.

Thank you so much for these great words of love. My partner, Cheta, and I have known each other for about three years and have been together for half that time. I love her unconditionally and I take care to tell her that every day, several times a day. We spend time together every day and always welcome each other at the beginning of the day. These little rituals are crucial in keeping our love fresh and alive.

Yes, better to love everyone (regardless of what they’ve said and done) than hate certain people for various reasons. Nothing good comes out of hate.
happy belated valentines day
