Off-piste skiing and skiing through powder snow are the most amazing things you can do with a pair of skis.
La Grave, located 75km east of Grenoble, belongs to the French Alps and is linked with the nearby ski resort Les 2-Alpes. You can walk from La Grave to Les 2-Alpes at an altitude of 3500 m on between 15 and 30 minutes. In case of strong winds and no visibility on the glacier, the way can be unaccesible.
As the skiing in La Grave is only off-pist, you should contact a certified mountain guide who knows the area. The Skiers Lodge offers guided off-pist skiing on La Meije massif. Their guides come from Sweden, France, USA, Germany and Great Britain and are all qualified IFMGA/UIAGM (International High Mountain Guides).
If you are interested in guided off-pist skiing next season, do book early as the places are limited to 30 each week. For booking, email to booking@skierslodge.com
The photos below were shot in La Grave/La Meije in January.
