Off-piste skiing and skiing through powder snow are the most amazing things you can do with a pair of skis.
La Grave, located 75km east of Grenoble, belongs to the French Alps and is linked with the nearby ski resort Les 2-Alpes. You can walk from La Grave to Les 2-Alpes at an altitude of 3500 m. It takes between 15 and 30 minutes. But the way can be unaccesible in case of strong winds and no visibility on the glacier.
As the skiing in La Grave only is off-pist, you should contact a certified mountain guide who knows the area. The Skiers Lodge offers guided off-pist skiing on La Meije massif. Their guides come from Sweden, France, USA, Germany and Great Britain and are all qualified IFMGA/UIAGM (International High Mountain Guides).
If you are interested in guided off-pist skiing next season they advice you to book early as the places are limited to 30 each week. For booking, email to booking@skierslodge.com
The photos below were shot in La Grave/ La Meije in January.
