Today I finished reading How to Make Money With Your Travel Blog by Matthew Kepnes of Nomadic Matt’s Travel Site. Earning more than $3,000 a month from different travel sites, Matt is a proof that as long as you have patience, persistence and the right attitude, making money from blogging is entirely possible.

No matter if you aspire to blog full time and earn lots of money or are happy to make some income on the side, I highly recommend Matt’s new e-book. If you’re going to buy only one e-book this month, or year, make it this one.

If you’re a complete beginner when it comes to blogging, you will learn loads of new stuff from someone with the right knowledge and experience. If you’re like me and already have a blog, I can guarantee you’ll pick up new tips and useful info that will help you increase traffic and monetize your blog.

The e-book is divided into seven sections:

Intro - In short, what the e-book covers.

Setting up a blog – Here you’ll learn important things to consider before starting out, the difference between a travel journal and an information site, and why you should preferably have more than one website.

Creating your blog – The third section discusses themes (the design of your blog), why Wordpress is the best choice, plug-ins for Wordpress, and the importance of choosing a good domain name.

Regardless of your previous experience, keep in mind to not skip any part in belief that you already know everything. I created my own blog about two years ago and thanks to this section I discovered two great plug-ins I had never heard about before.

Increasing traffic – Everyone wants more blog visitors. This section shows you how to build a community and use social media sites like Twitter, Facebook and StumpleUpon to increase traffic.

Search engine optimization tips – A thorough discussion about search engine optimization (SEO), link building and where to find valuable links. This is a must read.

Monetization tips – In this section, Matt shares the four key ways to monetize your website or blog, and where to find advertisers.

Putting it all together/Conclusion – The last part combines a FAQ with an action plan. How long will it take to start earning? What can you expect? How much time should you put in?

Matt clearly knows what he’s talking about and wants to help fellow bloggers succeed in the online world. This is the only e-book of its kind available and I recommend anyone interested in blogging (or internet marketing) to get hold of a copy.
