Even if Fribourg can seem old-fashioned, this city in central Switzerland does have a modern and cosmopolitan feel. Thanks to Fribourg’s universities, many students from different countries live here. During our stopover we met English, French, German and Italian speakers (from Ticino).
Although we enjoyed the city, our favourite moment was when we walked along Rue des Alpes. This street goes parallell with Rue de Romont and Rue de Lausanne. Unlike those Rue des Alpes has a lot of traffic, but the view of the hills and the countryside in the distance almost made me wish I lived here.

I haven’t been here in many years but when we visited we walked this street, around sunset, and the view was sublime.
