Winter Its Not Too Late For a Skiing Break

Ski resort holidays are always popular over the festive period among holidaymakers and ardent skiers alike, providing the perfect location to celebrate Christmas and welcoming the New Year in style. These events might be over, but there is still huge opportunity to hit the slopes and take advantage of the fresh snow. What’s more, there is no need to worry about booking your ski trip in advance, as there is still an impressive range of last minute ski holidays available from sites such as Teletext Holidays — just waiting to be explored.

If you feel overwhelmed by the wealth of last minute deals out there, here is four top-rated ski destinations to inspire you:

Soldeu, Andorra

Flaine, France

With its safe environment for children, Flaine is the perfect resort to take the little ones to learn new skills that they will hopefully take with them into adulthood, and perhaps even pass on to their own children. What’s more, there are games rooms aplenty to keep them entertained after a day on the slopes when you want to kick back and relax.

Morzine, France

If skis aren’t your primary apparatus on the slopes, then you might be interested to know that Morzine is often rated the best resort for avid snowboarders. This resort may have a traditional charm about it, but is also known for its vibrant personality. There aren’t many ski resorts that can claim they have ice-climbing, hot-air balloons and helicopter rides.

Morzine also features some great beginner runs known as “The Super Morzine”. These runs are wide, easily accessible and great fun for everyone travelling down them.

It would be unwise to believe the misconception that last minute holidays significantly reduce your holiday options, as the facts show your position is quite the contrary – you really are spoilt for choice. Get out there and feel free to come back and let us how it went.

  1. Skiing is my favorite sport and hobby. At every winter I try to visit different Skiing destination which I really enjoy. Last time I had visited Val Thorens which is located in France. Thanks for reminding my memories.

I used to do a lot of skiing growing up – mostly cross country but occasionally alpine as well. It sure is a great way to enjoy all that lovely powder snow. We’ve been missing out this year – it has been a very dry winter with only a bit of snow compared to most winters… I’m sure we’ll get hit in March though when it is supposed to start warming up. :)
