There’s Never a Wrong Moment For Joe’s Jeans

As I  thought about what clothes to bring to London and what to leave in Sweden, it hit me that the most important piece of clothing to pack is at least one great pair of jeans. Preferably three.

“I wish I had invented blue jeans. They have expression, modesty, sex appeal, simplicity – all I hope for in my clothes.” — Yves Saint Laurent

I will never forget my 70s style jeans in third grade, my first baggy jeans (which I only wore twice), or my too low-rised, light washed Diesel. So far I’ve gone from Diesel, to Miss Sixty, to Levi’s, to Nudie, to Acne, to Quiksilver, to 7 For All Mankind. But none of them fitted as well as my latest find, Joe’s Jeans. This American designer brand offers jeans in a variety of washes, lengths, rises, and price classes.

Joe’ Jeans Honey in Camille

I tested my first Joe’s, the Honey [n: booty fit] in wash Camille (pictured to the left), in December last year. By now I have realized you can wear these jeans basically anywhere, at any time.

First, let me tell you why I love them. With a dark wash, a classic boot cut, and no unnecessary embellishments, they offer the perfect combination of style, comfort and sexiness — exactly how I like my jeans.

Since the “Honey” models are contoured for the ultra feminine figure, they prove flattering to almost all body types — whether you have wide hips like Jennifer Lopez or barely any curves at all. With a tapered waist and higher rise, the jeans give you a sexy, slimming silhouette while hugging your curves in just the right way. They make your butt look great and only get better the more you wear them. Just remember to purchase the smallest size possible as all jeans more or less stretch with time. Hint: not so small that you need to lie down on the floor to get them on.

When to wear them?

As said before, you can wear the Honey jeans almost everywhere. About to take a morning stroll along the beach? As long as the temperature’s not too high, combine with your favorite top, a cool sun hat, and flip-flops (in case you don’t prefer to go barefoot).

No beach in sight where you live? A belt, sneakers and a hoodie will give you a relaxed and comfortable look ideal for a casual break at your local coffee shop. Rather hang around the house all morning? Put on your jeans and whatever else you wish to wear.

Ready for work? If jeans are an acceptable work wear at your job, then go for it. If not, save them for your next shopping spree or night out on the town. Put on a pair of high heels (pumps usually work) and a nice top, fix your hair, apply some make-up and you’re set to go. Still winter or chilly outside? Bring your trenchcoat or jacket.

My point is, providing you know how to mix and match, there is no wrong moment for a pair of Joe’s.

Don’t travel without your jeans

Wherever and whenever you travel, you do need at least one great pair of jeans. Even those summer nights in Greece can turn a bit cold. You’ll be glad you packed something else than skirts, shorts and dresses. The same goes for basically all destinations. You never know when the weather will change.
