I spent December 1996 on Zanzibar, at Nungwe beach, eating coconut chicken curry every day, lazing on the beach, in a thatch hut that cost me pennies a day. I'm sure it has changed a lot since, but the water then was so limpid it was transparent, right down to the last grain of sand at the bottom of the sea... Such memories!
